Application Notes
Terrific Broth is a rich nutrient media for propagation of Escherichia coli for purposes of strain maintenance, cloning, protein expression. It is certified for plasmid and other bacterial cultures in liquid medium. Higher cell densities are achieved using Terrific Broth in comparison to traditional LB Broth.

: Acceptable pH range is 6.84±0.3 at 25 °C. Please note that the pH of Terrific Broth Medium liquid increases as the temperature of the solution decreases.

Preparation Method
: Reagents are tested and chosen for their ability to promote optimum growth of E. coli when combined in Terrific Broth formulations. Chosen reagents are combined in the accurate proportions according to the formula and thoroughly blended for a uniform distribution. A sample of the blended formulation was used to prepare liquid. The combinations were mixed to dissolve components and autoclaved at 121 °C for 15 minutes.
Solubility
: Soluble in water (36 g/L).
Sterilization of Solutions
: Autoclave part 1 at 121° C for 15 minutes. When cool, add 20 mL of sterile Part 2.
