Application Notes
d-Aminolevulinic acid hydrochloride is used in the synthesis of hemes, vitamin B12 and bacteriochlorophyll. It is used in porphyrin biosynthesis studies. It enhances chlorophyll formation and may be used as a photodynamic herbicide is a precursor of tetrapyrroles in the biosynthesis of chlorophyll and heme.
