Tryptic Soy Broth is used for the cultivation of fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms. The inclusion of casein peptone and soy peptone to the formula enhances the growth of many fastidious microorganisms without the addition of blood or serum. It can support the growth of a wide variety of microorganisms including aerobes, anaerobes and fungi. Because of its nutritional capabilities it can be used as an enrichment broth and as a blood culture medium. Application Notes Tryptic Soy Broth is used for the cultivation of fastidious and non-fastidious microorganisms.Tryptic Soy Broth is a highly nutritive and very versatile medium recommended for general use in the laboratory. The medium promotes abundant growth of fastidious microorganisms without the necessity of adding serum and other materials.
