Takara LA Taq products
Takara LA Taq DNA polymerases combine Taq DNA polymerase and a DNA proofreading polymerase with 3’→5′ exonuclease activity to enable PCR amplification of very long targets (long-range PCR). This enzyme blend allows for long-and-accurate (LA) PCR of targets from a variety of templates, including genomic DNA.
With LA Taq polymerase, routine extensions of 20 kb are possible, and products of up to 48 kb can be obtained for some templates. We offer several different versions of LA Taq for long-range PCR:
- Individual components—separate tubes of LA Taq DNA polymerase, supplied with optimized LA PCR Buffer II (without Mg2+), MgCl2, and dNTPs for flexible reaction setup and optimization
- Hot-start version—LA Taq formulation that includes an antibody to increase reaction specificity and reduce background
- LA PCR Kit, Version 2.1—a complete kit comprising separate tubes of LA Taq, optimized buffer, and controls for amplification of long targets
- 2X PCR master mix in aliquots—One Shot LA PCR Mix Ver. 2.0 offers LA Taq enzyme premix with Mg2+ buffer, pre-dispensed in 25-µl aliquots
For targets with GC content >65%, use TaKaRa LA Taq DNA Polymerase with GC Buffer (Cat. # RR02AG). For high-fidelity applications with high GC content, we recommend PrimeSTAR GXL DNA Polymerase (Cat. # R050A).
In case you need a positive control to confirm that your long-range PCR is performing well, use the LA PCR Genome DNA Set (Cat. # 9060) as your long-range PCR controls. The set consists of purified, high-molecular-weight genomic DNA and primers.
